About The Program
Launched in 2024, the Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program is an initiative by the Bharti Airtel Foundation dedicated to supporting deserving students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on girl students, in becoming future technology leaders. This merit-cum-means-based scholarship is designed for students seeking admission in the first year of undergraduate engineering and 5-year integrated technology courses at the top 50 NIRF-ranked (Engineering) universities/institutes based on the latest NIRF rankings. Recipients of the scholarship are called as Bharti Scholars.
Key Features
Full Tuition Coverage
Covers 100% of annual tuition fees for the full duration of undergraduate and integrated courses, up to 5 years, subject to meeting renewal criteria.
Hostel & Mess fee
Full coverage of hostel and mess fees for scholars residing in campus facilities. For scholars staying in private accommodations, support is extended equivalent to the institute’s hostel/mess charges.
Inclusion focus
Focus on girl students to promote gender equality in the tech field.
Technology Support
High-end laptops are provided to each scholar to aid in their studies.
Mentorship Opportunities
Regular sessions with industry leaders and academic mentors to guide scholars in their academic and career endeavors.
Future Giving Pledge
Upon successful graduation and subsequent gainful employment, Bharti Scholars will undertake to voluntarily support education of at least one student on a continuous basis, at any given point of time during their lifetime. Bharti Scholars are encouraged to demonstrate environmental leadership and to voluntarily undertake planting and nurturing a minimum of five trees annually during the tenure of the scholarship.
Note that refundable and security deposits are not covered under the scholarship and remain the responsibility of the students.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
Confirmed admission in the first year of undergraduate or 5-year integrated courses in the fields of Electronics & Communication, Telecom, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, Aerospace, and Emerging Technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics). The institution must be among the top 50 NIRF Engineering universities/institutes as per the latest list available.
The family's annual income from all sources should not exceed INR 8 lakh.

Must be a citizen and resident of India.
Applicants should not be recipients of any other scholarships or grants for the same academic purposes supported by the Bharti Airtel Foundation.

Documents Required
- Government-Issued Identity Proof (Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License, etc.)
- Current year admission proof (admission letter, fee letter from the university/institution)
- The marksheet of Class 12
- JEE scorecard or university entrance exam scorecard (whichever is applicable)
- Parental/Guardian income documents:
- If salaried/self-employed: latest Income Tax Return Form (complete form) and bank statement of the previous 6 months. Income tax acknowledgement receipts will not be considered as valid income proof
- If no taxable income/unemployed: Government-issued income certificate and bank statement of the previous 6 months
- Bank account details (such as account number, IFSC, branch address) and bank statement of the applicant and parent/guardian for the last 6 months
- Bank account details of the institution (such as name of account, account number, IFSC, branch address)
- A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant
- Documents about extra-curricular activities, achievements, part-time jobs, projects, innovations, etc
- Expense receipts/rent agreement (in case of staying in PG/rented accommodation), if applicable
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) from the applicant
