Transforming India – One Village at a Time
Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has been at the forefront of driving impactful change in rural India since its inception in 2000. The Foundation is committed to uplifting children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds by making quality education and holistic development accessible - and thereby transformative.

To improve the quality and accessibility of school-level education across rural India, and to provide training and educational opportunities to the youth of our country to enhance their employability.
Over the past two decades, the Foundation has been implementing pioneering programs that focus on primary, elementary, senior secondary, and higher education - alongside initiatives promoting sanitation, community empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
Our Journey
Early Initiatives (2000-2006):
The Foundation collaborated with premier institutions such as IIT Delhi to launch impactful initiatives including the Bharti School of Telecommunication, mid-day meal programs, and Bharti Libraries - aimed at enhancing learning opportunities. It also partnered with NGOs to support children who were orphaned, abandoned, abused, visually impaired, or orthopaedically challenged.
Expanding Reach (2007-2015):
Introduced flagship programs such as the Satya Bharti School Program, ACT – A Caring Touch, scholarships for underprivileged girls, the Bharti Centre of Communication at IIT Bombay, the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB Mohali, and the Satya Bharti Abhiyan sanitation initiative.
Scaling Impact (2016-Present):
Expanded programs like the Quality Support Program to 1100 government schools across 12 states, directly benefiting 429,000+ students and 18,700+ teachers. Launched the Bharti Airtel Scholarship to support higher education, and TheTeacherApp for quality teacher-training.
By collaborating with governments, corporations, and local communities, the Foundation continues to transform lives through education, ensuring every child has the opportunity to realise their full potential.
